The Irish Sun has unveiled a brand new three part podcast called ‘This is Robert’, which investigates the shooting of postman Robert Delany in October 2008. The attack left Robert with life altering injuries while the man who ordered the shooting remains free.
Narrated by The Irish Sun’s Damien Lane, a veteran journalist who has covered crime in Ireland for over two decades, the three part series tells the story of Tallaght man Robert Delany. Robert was shot in the head at his home in front of his young daughter on the orders of a dissident Republican after he intervened to save a man being beaten outside a Dublin pub two months earlier.
Father of two Robert, who was 27 when he was shot, suffered a catastrophic brain injury and has remained in a permanent life altering state ever since. However, for 17 years, the man who called for Robert to be killed continues to walk free.
