Season 3 of The Women’s Podcast, ‘Big Night In’ will run from March 6th to May 15th and confirmed guests include Mary McAleese, Joanne O’Riordan, Dr Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin, Tolu Makay and Maeve Higgins.

Over the past 12 months, The Irish Times has adapted to the changing audience behaviour, proudly hosting, 25,000 attendees for sign up virtual events and 100,000 on livestreams on social.

Within this, last year, they launched The Women’s Podcast, ‘Big Night In’. Across two seasons and 12 live sign up events, they welcomed guests like Amy Huberman, Marian Keyes, Deirdre O’Kane, Samantha Barry, Caitlin Moran and Marie Cassidy amongst others.  Each live event was also recorded as part of the Women’s Podcast series.

The audience for these events became more like a community and as events grew, so did listenership for the podcast, which at the end of 2020 saw an increase of 30% in podcast plays year on year.

The opportunity to meet, connect and create a Spark of Joy for the audience, is more important than ever before, and The Irish Times virtual events  and podcast opportunities provide this environment for both attendees and the supporting brand.
