The Irish Farmers Journal has introduced a new range of services to help readers farm through Covid-19.

FARM TECH TALKS: With the support of FBD, MSD, Ornua and Bord Bia, the Irish Farmers Journal has launched a new free digital platform called Farm Tech Talks. Their technical specialists are delivering two weekly broadcasts per week with advice for farmers on how best they can maintain farm productivity at this important time in the farming calendar. MART PRICE CALCULATOR: With the recent disruption in the marts coming at a time when over 500,000 cattle are normally traded, they have launched a free cattle price calculator. This tool allows farmers to calculate the value of their animals based on sales data collected through the Irish Farmers Journal’s Martbids app. View the calculator here: www.ifj.ie/animalvalue

PEDIGREE STOCK BULL CALCULATOR: Furthermore, they have also launched a free pedigree stock bull calculator will give farmers a good idea of the price they should be paying for a bull. View the calculator here: www.ifj.ie/bullvalue

FARMING STORIES DURING THE LOCKDOWN: Finally, the country may be in lockdown, but farmers are still working on essential food production. The IFJ have set up an online page for readers to share their stories on how life is continuing on their farm. The best stories and photos then appear in the printed edition. Print circulation sales of the Irish Farmers Journal are buoyant with significant year on year circulation sales increases over the past 10 weeks. Farmers always turn to the Irish Farmers Journal as their trusted source of unique specialist content in times of crisis and this period is no different.

They are also seeing record website traffic growth which is reflected in digital subscriber growth – more people are prepared to pay for unique and specialist content which they can’t access elsewhere. Their weekly podcast remains very popular with farmers listening to it whilst on the tractor or down the fields! Visit www.farmersjournal.ie/podcast to view podcast archives.
