The Irish Sun has unveiled a brand new two part podcast,Unravelling Amy’, which tells the astonishing true story of Irish con artist Amy McAuley – a woman who used those closest to her to carry out a series of frauds spanning almost a decade.

Narrated by The Irish Sun’s Damien Lane, a veteran journalist who has covered crime in Ireland for over two decades, the two-part series investigates how Amy manipulated family, friends and colleagues for her cons – even faking her own death three times to avoid theft and fraud charges. Not even charitable causes were safe from her exploitation, as she left a trail of destruction and heartbreak in her wake.

The first instalment in The Irish Sun’s deep dive series, which investigates gripping real-life stories and pivotal moments that have shaped Ireland’s history, Unravelling Amy delves into the motives behind her cons and the lives of those most affected.

Featuring expert insights from The Irish Sun’s Crime Editor Stephen Breen and experienced journalist Nicola Bardon, the series is brought to you by the team behind Ireland’s number-one podcasts ‘The Stardust Tragedy’, ‘The Kinahans’, and ‘The Making of a Detective’.

Neil Cotter, Head of Podcasting, at The Irish Sun, says:At The Irish Sun, we’re committed to telling the stories that matter – stories that uncover the truth. Unravelling Amy is one of the most fascinating and revealing investigations we’ve undertaken. In this podcast, we trace the lies, betrayals, and heartbreak Amy left behind, delving into her motives and bringing the full picture of her frauds to light.”
