The Sunday Times, Ireland’s leading quality Sunday news brand, has named Elaine Prendeville as Features Editor and Philip Ryan as Head of Content.

In her new role as Features Editor at The Sunday Times, Elaine will be responsible for curating compelling and diverse content and leading collaboration with the wider editorial team to produce insightful, high-quality journalism that resonates with readers.

Elaine has a host of experience in editorial leadership and joins The Sunday Times from the Business Post, where she was Editorial Director for their magazine brands. With extensive experience in editorial leadership, she has also spearheaded a number of awards programmes for magazine brands. Prior to this, she was Head of Creative Communications at Harmonia Group and Editor of VIP Magazine, further cementing her experience in media and audience engagement.

Beyond her editorial career, Elaine is a board member at Quality Matters, an organisation dedicated to supporting not-for-profits, social enterprises, charities, and state agencies in developing innovative solutions that drive meaningful social impact.

With over a decade of experience in journalism, Elaine also holds a Diploma in Law from the Law Society of Ireland and a Diploma in Addiction Studies from Dublin Business School.

Philip Ryan is an award winning journalist with a distinguished career in political reporting. As the newly appointed Head of Content at The Sunday Times, he will lead the news team, workingclosely with the Editor and Deputy Editor todeliver distinctive, agenda-setting content across all platforms.

Originally from Dublin, Philip joins The Sunday Times after more than a decade at Mediahuis, where he primarily served as the Political Editor across the multiple print and online titles at the business.

Prior to this, he spent three years as an Investigative Reporter with the Irish Mail on Sunday and also held investigative and news reporting roles at the Sunday Independentand Irish Daily Mail.

In 2018, Philip collaborated with fellow journalist Niall O’Connor to write Leo, the first full length biography of former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.

Throughout his career, Philip has been recognised for his commitment to journalistic excellence and his ability to deliver sharp, insightful political analysis. Philip also has a BA Honours Degree in Media Production Management, Communication and Media Studies from Ballyfermot College of Further Education.
