On a recent cold frosty night, over 150 first time buyers braved the elements to attend The Irish Times First Time Buyer’s event in association with Bank of Ireland at The Irish Times building on Tara Street.

Welcomed with warming drinks and canapés, guests then settled in to an evening of talks hosted by Irish Times journalist Orna Mulcahy. Karena O Sullivan, Head of Mortgages at Bank of Ireland was on hand with her team of mortgage advisors to guide guests through the Mortgage journey. Angela Keegan of Myhome.ie gave insights into the housing market trends, what’s driving them and where housing stock is currently available.

Finally, Dermot Bannon of Room to Improve gave a fascinating presentation sharing the tips and tricks he has learned over the past 20 years aimed at First Time Buyers and people wanting to renovate their home.

To finish off the evening, spot prizes were awarded for best questions including a series of Home & Design books (with 5 lucky winners receiving signed copies of the Dermot Bannon’s book Love Your Home) and one couple winning tickets to the Irish Times Food & Wine Pairing event in association with O Brien’s wine, as part of Food Month.
