NewsBrands Ireland are delighted to sponsor this year’s Shelflife magazines’s C-Store Awards.

Since 2000, the ShelfLife National C-Store Awards have represented retail excellence on a national level. Across each of the entry categories, these awards are designed to recognise and reward the very best of convenience retailing in all its key areas of operation.

Speaking about the unique role newspapers play in the retail industry, Vincent Crowley, Chairman of NewsBrands Ireland, said: “Consumer behaviour and reading habits continue to shift and evolve but newspapers still remain a highly profitable retail product category. 3 million newspapers are sold every week and the annual total retail sales value of national and local newspapers is now approx. €270million. Compare these figures with another category such as bottled water which is worth €178million and it shows the continued relevance of the newspaper category. Research shows that newspapers continue to provide significant foot traffic, draw people further into the store and are not usually purchased alone.”

The C-Store Awards will take place on November 27th. Best of luck to all entrants!
