The NewsBrands Ireland annual Journalism Awards, sponsored by the National Lottery, took place on November 2nd in Dublin’s Mansion House, where the Irish news publishing community gathered to celebrate the very best in journalism from the past year.

Presented by MC Matt Cooper and with Special Guest Denis Naughten TD, Minister for Communications, Climate Action and the Environment, a total of 25 category awards were presented at the ceremony including News, Sport, Features, Business, Crime, Foreign Coverage, Investigative Journalism, Showbiz, Digital Excellence, Political Coverage and Young  Journalist of the Year.

Catherine Fegan of the Irish Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday was crowned NewsBrands Ireland Journalist of the Year for 2017 and Tuam historian Catherine Corless was presented with a  Special Contribution to Investigative Research award.
