NewsBrands Ireland Engage Conference to feature ‘Godfather of Effectiveness’ Peter Field
Virtual conference takes place on Wednesday May 5th

Advertising effectiveness expert Peter Field has been confirmed as a guest speaker at the forthcoming NewsBrands Ireland Engage conference, which is taking place from 9.30am-1pm on Wednesday, May 5th.
‘NewsBrands Engage is a new virtual conference for the Irish advertising and media community. This conference comes at a momentous moment for Irish and international news publishing as it enters a new era and will be an essential event for advertising and media professionals. The conference will also host the annual Media Planning competition for junior agency planners.
Attendees will hear from local and international publishers, journalists, marketers, and commercial leads as they share their experiences from the past extraordinary year and discuss their strategies for 2021 and beyond.
Speakers at the event include: Colm O’ Reilly, Business Post CEO & Chairman of NewsBrands Ireland, and Wout Van Wijk, Director of News Media Europe, who will discuss the future for news publishers in light of recent developments in Australia, France, and Canada as they tackle the dominance of tech platforms in the digital advertising market.
Effectiveness expert Peter Field and Newsworks UK insight director Denise Turner will present new analysis of the IPA Databank effectiveness case studies. The latest results show that advertisers are seeing more positive and longer-term business effects when they invest in news brands. Peter and Denise will explore what the implications of this research are for brands, agencies and publishers.
Jana Solovjova, Marketing Manager Peugeot Ireland, will speak about her brand’s strategy and how they use news brands to reach their audience.
Sunday Independent Editor Alan English and Irish Examiner Political Correspondent Aoife Moore will discuss with Roisin Ingle from The Irish Times how news publishers have covered Covid – the story of a generation – the articles that drove record audience numbers, the scoops that set the wider news and political agenda, and the trusted analysis and information that the public relied upon.
A ‘Back to the Future’ themed discussion moderated by Adrian Weckler will focus on the future for publishers, agencies, and marketers in the post-cookie world, and will feature WireCorp CEO Ciaran O’ Kane, OMD Digital Director Helen Beecher, and David Fogarty, Digital Investment Director, Core.
