Aoife Hofler, Christine Matthews, and Lisa Buckley have been announced as the judging panel for the annual NewsBrands Ireland Power of Planning competition which is taking place next Tuesday, 31st of May in the Morrison Hotel.
The competition will see teams of young media planners from Ireland’s leading agencies participate in a day long event to devise media plans to showcase the range and effectiveness of the various print and online platforms that make up NewsBrands Ireland. The education day will also include the Engage event which is taking place that morning.
The competition was won by a team from Zenith last year
Judging Panel members
Aoife Hofler is board Director at Javelin and heads up their rapidly growing media department. Aoife has been in the media industry for 18 years with experience across all categories and multi markets. She was based in London for two years running the UK & Irl IKEA and Kerryfoods business while at Denstu agency Vizeum. Before moving to Javelin she was Deputy Managing Director at Wavemaker in Dublin and was part of their global marketing board. Aoife has a number of accolades including 2 x Campaign UK media awards for her work on IKEA and a Global Festival of Media award for work on Yoplait.
Christine Matthews has over 20 years of experience working in the Irish Media Industry. Starting her career in Agency land working on accounts for well known brands such as the National Lottery, Mars & Toyota to selling print & digital partnerships with News Ireland. More recently Christine joined Kantar Media in 2019, and now as Head of TGI Customer Success Ireland, she brings a wealth of experience to TGI’s consumer & media intelligence research; helping clients to understand audiences and build effective media and marketing strategies.
Lisa Buckley is Director of Communications & Programmes for NewsBrands Ireland. She designs and leads all campaigns and events for NewsBrands as well as being involved in a number of industry Steering Groups including research, promoting journalism, and commercial activity. Prior to joining NewsBrands, Lisa was a PR Account Director with Unique Media responsible for a range of consumer and corporate accounts including, News Ireland, ASAI, Glanbia Consumer Foods , GSK, and the Irish Book Awards.
