The NewsBrands Ireland Journalism Awards has received over 800 entries for this year’s awards. The awards programme, which is sponsored by the National Lottery, celebrates the best in Irish journalism and features a total of 24 categories spanning all areas and disciplines of modern journalism.

Entry to the Journalism Awards is open to any work published in print, online, video, or audio from any NewsBrands Ireland member title.

This year’s Independent Judging Panel has been confirmed with a total of 28 judges so far and more to be announced. All members of the independent judging panel are completely impartial and unconnected with any NewsBrands Ireland news publisher. Each panel member has been carefully chosen for their integrity, passion, and excellence in the field of journalism.

The shortlist will be announced in October and the awards ceremony is planned to take place in November 2020.
