The Irish Examiner hosts its second annual International Women’s Day event on Monday, March 8th, with event partner Green & Black’s.

The virtual International Women’s Day lunchtime celebration will take place from 1pm-2pm. The host, Life & Style editor Esther N. McCarthy will talk to Irish Examiner writers who choose to challenge in their professional careers and personal lives. Speakers include Alison O’Connor, Aoife Moore, Clodagh Finn and Derval O’Rourke.

Alison O’Connor is a journalist, broadcaster and author. She writes a weekly column for the Irish Examiner, and as a current affairs commentator appears regularly on radio and television.

Aoife Moore is a Political Correspondent for the Irish Examiner. Born in Derry during the peace process, Aoife has won awards for her coverage of Northern Ireland and last year broke #golfgate, one of the biggest stories in Irish politics.

Clodagh Finn is an Irish Examiner columnist and author. She is particularly interested in telling the untold stories of women in history.

Derval O’Rourke is a retired professional track athlete with her career highlight being crowned World Champion in 2006. Now a popular tv coach on Ireland’s Fittest Family, she has written two best selling cookbooks and created an online health and wellbeing platform.  She writes weekly for the Irish Examiner Weekend magazine on wellness.   

The Irish Examiner will also mark International Women’s Day 2021 across the week commencing March 6, in print, online, social, podcast and across our suite of magazines
