Irish Examiner: Now & Then

Experience photographs from the Irish Examiner’s archive like you’ve never seen them before.

A new photographic project aims to recreate moments captured in the Irish Examiner photographic archive. Irish Examiner staff photographers returned to the locations and captured a modern-day shot of the same view as part of the ‘Now & Then’ project. These images have been blended with the archive images to create a stunning visual representation of the changes the towns have undergone in recent decades. These stunning photographs some of which have not been seen for decades can be compared with their modern equivalent with the use of a slider tool on the site. The site will continue to be added to with new locations being added to the site in the coming months.

The Greatest Rugby Team

The Irish Examiner’s stalwart team of Donal Lenihan, Ronan O’Gara and Simon Lewis will be back writing from mid-October when the European Champions Cup kicks off.  Ronan is the greatest kicker of his generation and his compelling Friday column will be as honest in his appraisal of others as he was of himself as a player. Donal Lenihan, the most authoritative writer on rugby in this country, will provide unrivalled assessment of the game. Read his unmissable ‘Inside Rugby’ column on Wednesdays. Simon Lewis is the Examiner’s rugby correspondent and an incisive member of the team.
