The Irish Daily Star/Postmobile/Galway Crystal GAA Awards honour outstanding GAA performances from players from all counties. This year, awards were presented to The Star Man of the Match for every single hurling and football game played during The Championship. Uniquely, the 2016 Awards do not discriminate in favour of the strong and successful counties, but honour the players of the match in every championship game – in every round. This year almost 100 awards were presented to winners from 27 counties.

The Star’s marketing manager Gavin O’ Leary said “Once again this unique event proved to be a really successful night. The Star’s relationship with the GAA continues to go from strength to strength which makes us the No 1 newspaper for the players and fans alike”.
