The Times and Sunday Times launched their ‘First Time Buyers’ Event with Bank of Ireland on the 20th September in the Conrad Hotel.

The event was hosted by Linda Daly, Sunday Times Move editor, along with Karena O’Sullivan, Head of Mortgages at Bank of Ireland, Dr Lorcan Sirr, columnist with The Sunday Times and lecturer in DIT, and Dermot Bannon, presenter of Room to Improve and Bank of Ireland brand ambassador.

The event was the culmination of a six week campaign consisting of in-paper, online and on-air activity encompassing all of News Ireland and Urban Media’s assets. This led to full attendance at the event with excited, engaged and eager first time buyers. The campaign objective was to position Bank of Ireland as the lender of choice and to drive mortgage applications

Although the main focus was the event, print underpinned the narrative of the campaign as Bank of Ireland’s objective was to be seen as the opinion leaders. The activity kicked off with a series of sponsored content within The Sunday Times. As MOVE is the Sunday Times’ dedicated residential property section, it was the natural fit to reinforce the strength of Bank of Ireland’s mortgage offerings and to walk first time buyers through the mortgage journey.

A Bank of Ireland Content Hub was created within The Times site which sat outside the paywall. This was populated each week with the content pieces published each week in MOVE.

Urban Media did a live broadcast at the event alongside interviews on Q102.

All in all the night was a great success and the Sunday Times look forward to furthering this next year.
