Early January saw a crowd gather to fill the Sugar Club in Dublin to listen to a panel of writers who joined Róisín Ingle at one of the many live events hosted by The Irish Times Women’s Podcast, sponsored by Green & Black’s.
Since then, a dedicated audience has gathered, except this time around their screens, to connect with each other, their host and her guests.
More than 800 Irish Times subscribers and readers have attended four Saturday Night In events with The Irish Times Women’s Podcast hosted by Róisín Ingle. The newly inaugurated Nights In have featured Marian Keyes, Deirdre O’Kane, Amy Huberman and Lisa Hannigan, all Zooming in from their homes. These days it’s BYO and lots of the audience can be seen enjoying a cocktail or a cup of tea. The opportunity to meet, connect and more importantly now than ever, celebrate the spirit of community is evident in the audience reactions and comments during the one hour events. Hosted on Zoom, they are free to join and are consistently over-subscribed as soon as they are announced.
Green & Black’s was delighted to see the audience reaction to the new event style. Commenting on the plan to continue the series until mid July Brand Manager Maighréad Lynch said, “Green & Black’s and The Women’s Podcast have been a great partnership through the challenges that this year has brought. There’s nothing we all enjoyed more than a social get together in a lovely venue with a chocolate inspired cocktail. It may be a while before we do that again but the responses from the audiences, Róisín and her guests have been so positive and upbeat that the Big Night In has been an uplifting place to be on a Saturday night. It’s always nice to have an opportunity to treat some audience members with a delicious hamper of Green & Black’s and we’re delighted to see the enthusiasm for our chocolate at the Big Night In.”
