Sign up for the NewsBrands Ireland annual Power of Planning competition!

Teams of junior media planners from Ireland’s media agencies are invited to participate in our annual media planning competition which takes place as part of our NewsBrands Engage seminar on Wednesday, May 22nd in the Dean Hotel, Harcourt Street.

We are inviting media planners with three years’ experience or less to immerse themselves in all things news brands and be inspired by the latest research, creative possibilities, case studies, and audience insights.

Our competition challenges teams to create an original and impactful media plan which showcases the range and effectiveness of using national news brands’ print and digital platforms. Up to six people can be on any team.

Each team will be given until 4.30pm that day to prepare their strategies and plans. They will also have the opportunity to network with representatives from the various news publishers’ advertising departments, ask questions, and find information about their brands.

The teams will be judged on the basis of four criteria: Interpretation of the Brief; Strategic Thinking; Best Use of the Medium; and Best Use of Budget.

The winners and runners up will be announced in the days after the event and the winning team will receive the coveted NewsBrands Ireland Power of Planning trophy and a great prizes.

How to sign up your team

  1. Email Lisa Buckley, NewsBrands Ireland lbuckley@newsbrands.ie with the names of your team members no later than Monday May 6th.
